Sussex Montessori Public Charter School
Sussex Montessori has partnered with Delaware Health and Social Services Division of Public Health, Oral Health and Dental Services. The Delaware Smile Check Program is a statewide, portable preventive dental program. Through this program children are able to improve health outcomes through disease prevention, oral health, oral health education, and resolving barriers to care by coming to our school.
On-Site Services for Montessori Children
Dental screenings- these screenings are performed by a licensed dental hygienist to assess for infection, cavities, gum disease, trauma, deformities in teeth, and the overall health of the mouth.
Fluoride Varnish- this is a fluoride application to strengthen teeth against decay (cavities).
Dental Health Education- educational sessions will be held here at school on May 4th for our fourth graders.
Oral health- screening reports form will be sent home with the student.
Dental Necessities- toothbrush, toothpaste, and dental floss will be sent home with students.
Who can participate?
Anyone who is uninsured, insured by Delaware Medicaid, Delaware Healthy Children Program (CHIP), or who has not seen a dentist in over seven months.
There are no out of pocket expenses for any service.
FORMS ARE BEING SENT HOME ON 2/9. THEY MUST BE COMPLETED AND RETURNED NO LATER THAN 2/24/23.
