Our school nurse is here to help you and your child stay healthy. From managing medications to caring for the sick and injured, our school nurse will ensure your your child is healthy and well.

Wellness Committee
Your participation in the Wellness Committee is also an excellent opportunity to get involved in the school community and to meet other parents who share your interest in promoting health and wellness. Our Wellness Policy can be found here: Wellness Policy

On-Site Services for Montessori Children
Dental screenings- these screenings are performed by a licensed dental hygienist to assess for infection, cavities, gum disease, trauma, deformities in teeth, and the overall health of the mouth.
Fluoride Varnish- this is a fluoride application to strengthen teeth against decay (cavities).
Dental Health Education- educational sessions will be held here at school on May 4th for our fourth graders.
Oral health- screening reports form will be sent home with the student.
Dental Necessities- toothbrush, toothpaste, and dental floss will be sent home with students.
Delaware Smile Check
Sussex Montessori has partnered with Delaware Health and Social Services Division of Public Health, Oral Health and Dental Services. The Delaware Smile Check Program is a statewide, portable preventive dental program. Through this program children are able to improve health outcomes through disease prevention, oral health, oral health education, and resolving barriers to care by coming to our school.
Who can participate?
Anyone who is uninsured, insured by Delaware Medicaid, Delaware Healthy Children Program (CHIP), or who has not seen a dentist in over seven months.
There are no out of pocket expenses for any service.
