Flag Football and Cheer is here at Sussex Montessori School!
We are excited to announce that, this spring, Sussex Montessori School will be hosting its first spring flag football and cheer league! The BarnCat Flag Football & Cheer Program (lovingly named in honor of “Dill,” the campus barn cat that lived on our campus during our very first year) will provide an incredible opportunity for our learners to learn the fundamentals of flag football and cheerleading, represent their school, and build relationships with teammates and learners from other classes.
This program is open to all 4th-6th grade learners, both boys and girls, and will follow the official NFL Flag Football rulebook. Practices will begin on Monday, March 10th and will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30-4:45. One end-of-season tournament will be held on Saturday, May 17th, with two regular-season games played during the season.
We’re also excited to share that some of our other favorite SMS teachers will be coaching both cheerleading and football this spring. They’re eager to bring their energy, knowledge, and enthusiasm to the teams!
